What forms of payment are accepted?

Garden View Assisted Living sees a trend of mostly private-pay customers. While we do not rely on Medicaid or Medicare, certain long-term care insurance policies do reimburse the assisted living monthly rent and or care services. In addition, many assisted living payments are tax deductible. This may be a good time to review any long term care policies and speak with your insurance/tax representative for specific details.

Residents are eligible (just as in your own home) to receive Medicare assistance for home health such as nursing services, physical therapy and/or other types of therapy needs while living at Garden View.

What documents are needed before a resident can move in?

Garden View is a state licensed assisted living community. As such, the following information is kept confidential and is obtained in line with our license:

• Physician Plan of Care is completed by the physician of your choice
• Copies of your living will, DNR, Power of Attorney, etc. (if you have these documents in effect).
• Other move-in paperwork, including residency agreement, is completed prior to the date of move-in.

What outside services are allowed?

We are happy to work in conjunction with both home health agencies and hospice agencies to provide our residents with continuing care when prescribed by your attending physician or medical provider. These agencies are welcome into our community and will meet with the Wellness Coordinator and/or Administrator on a weekly basis to ensure continued quality in resident care services.

What are Assisted Services?

Assisted Services are the personal, individual services that are provided to our residents. Some of our residents live in our community for safety and convenience; with the additional security of our emergency call system. Other residents need a helping hand with daily activities. Each resident's needs and desires are discussed to determine how our staff can be of assistance, while allowing as much independence as the resident can manage, or would like. Garden View's care staff can provide as little or as much assistance as is needed – including bathing, grooming, hygiene assistance, incontinence care, medication reminders and assistance, and more.

Just ask – we can meet your care needs either on a temporary or regular basis. .

Can I bring my own things?

Absolutely! Our apartments are unfurnished – this allows you to bring your own furniture to make it truly your own. We want your place to be comfortable and familiar  – you may even put up a wallpaper border to personalize your apartment!

Can I bring my pet?

With a non-refundable pet deposit, you may bring your small dog or cat to live with you. Your pet is welcome in your apartment, provided they remain current on shot records and are well behaved. More information concerning “pet friendly” apartments is available…… just ask.

Can I have visitors?

Garden View is your home. Your social and family life should continue to thrive and even grow. We do allow over-night guests to your apartment, and can, at times, provide a guest suite for a fee. Your guests may also join you for meals. A two hours notice can ensure guest meals are available. The cost is a minimal price per plate and may be either paid in cash at the time of your meal, or charged to the resident apartment.

Can I hold an apartment?

It is an exciting time for everyone, once you have toured our community, and made a decision on an apartment. Because our apartments rent quickly, we require that you leave a non refundable community fee to hold your particular apartment while you prepare to move. We limit the length of time an apartment can be put on hold to 14 days. We will help you to get your paperwork completed, and can even recommend a mover if you need a little help. The community fee is refunded to you if for some reason your physician determines that you require care not available in the Assisted Living setting.
